Call 911 For Immediate Life-Threatening Emergencies

When should you call 911? Ask yourself these questions:

  • Is the patient’s condition life or limb threatening? 
  • Could the patient’s condition worsen and become life or limb-threatening on the way to the hospital? 
  • Could moving the patient cause further injury? 
  • Does the patient need the skills or equipment of paramedics or emergency medical technicians? 
  • Would distance or traffic conditions cause a delay in getting the patient to the hospital? 
If you answered YES to ANY of these questions, then immediately call 911!
